The SLPHS choir program has enjoyed a long relationship with the St. Paul Chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. (SPEBSQSA) and the North Star Chorus. Each year we have a barber shop quartet come into our choir classes and demonstrate the barber shop singing style.

 

In June of every year the St Paul Chapter of the society sponsors 10 SLP boys to go to their annual Land O’Lakes District, Youth in Harmony - “Harmony Explosion Camp” held at the university of Wisconsin LaCrosse. The chapter pays for transportation, lodging, food and all activities. Materials are sent out in the spring for those boys who are interested.
