Directions to Some of the Practices:
Theodore Wirth Park Ski Trails (Wirth Beach, NOT THE CHALET)
Take 694 West to Highway 100. Go South on Highway 100 for 8 miles or so to Glenwood Avenue Exit. Take a left on Glenwood Avenue. Continue on Glenwood to the first stop sign. Go straight at the stop sign and take a left turn into the parking lot for Wirth Beach. Meet at the parking lot. There is no fee for parking here.

Elm Creek Park
Three Rivers Park District is reporting a traffic change due to construction work. Territorial Road will be closing Thursday, Dec 1, 2005 at County Road 81. Here are new directions to Elm Creek Park Reserve:
From Highway 169, take County Road 81 west to Fernbrook Lane (County Road 121). Turn right onto Fernbrook Lane, then turn right onto Territorial Road and follow it to the park entrance.
From Interstate 94, take County Road 30 west to Fernbrook Lane (County Road 121). Turn left onto Fernbrook Lane, then turn right onto Territorial Road and follow it to the park entrance. |
French Park
Take Central Avenue (Hwy 65) South to 694. Go west on 694. Follow 694 to 169. Take 169 south to Rockford Road (County Rd 9). Go right (west) on Rockford Road. Follow Rockford Road about 2 miles to French Park (Watch for a brown park sign that says “Clifton E. French Park”. Turn left into park. Follow road all the way in until you get to the Activities Center. (right turn into parking lot). |
Lake Calhoun
Take Highway 94 South to the Hennepin Avenue exit. Continue south on Hennepin to Lake Street. Go right on Lagoon Street to Lake Street. Continue West (right) on Lake Street to Dean Parkway. Just past the parkway you'll see a green glass building on the left side. (Lake Calhoun Executive Center). Park Here. Parking is free on the weekends. |
Long Lake Park (rough directions)
Take US 10 (old highway 10) East to the lights at the Mermaid. Go right. Take the first left and watch for the signs for Long Lake Park. You will take a right into the park. Follow the park road all the way until the very end. This will bring you to the beach. Park in the lot. |
Minnehaha Falls
Directions: Take 35 W south to Hiawatha Avenue and go right (south), follow this to 28th street and go left. Take the first right and it will bring you to a large pavilion. This is a pay lot. You might be able to find other parking for free on some of the side streets. Meet at the big Pavilion at 8:30!! |
U OF M
Take 35W south to the 4th Street/University Ave exit. Turn left onto University Ave. Drive through three stop lights. At 14th Ave SE, turn right. This road will take you through a stop sign, then wind around to the left. This road turns into East River Rd. You'll stop at another stop sign, then begin to descend a big hill. You'll drive past the Wiseman Art Garage and a dorm. At the bottom of the hill, turn right into a metered parking lot. That's where we will meet! Bring plenty of quarters because parking is not free. |
