                           SLP/STA Girls' Hockey - Volunteers
   
Volunteers help raise needed funding and make the hockey experience better for our girls. We appreciate all the hard work that everyone does to make our program better.

Volunteer Opportunities
         
      
                               Game Summary Volunteers
Four volunteers needed to take game summaries of theJV &Varsitygames.
These summaries will be posted to the web site for all to enjoy.

                          At Large Puckster Board Member
Attend board meetings at Fogerty on the first Monday of each month from 7-9pm and help make the decisions that impact the team, and provide input.
Meetings are low key with a great group of people. Come see what it's allabout at our next board meeting 7pm in the Fogerty Conference Room.
                                 Concessions Stand Booth
The various Booster Clubs staff the SPLHS concession booths during sports events, the profits are then split between the booster clubs volunteering. We need 3 people for about three hours each shift. The SLP Girls Hockey staffs the stand approximately three times each trimester. Dates will be announced later in the season for the winter and spring sessions.

                                       Team Dinners
Team Dinners are held several times during the season. They can be hosted in a player’s home or heldat the Fogerty Conference Room. Three to five volunteers are needed for each team dinner to prepare and serve the meal and clean up afterwards. The Pucksters will provide information with quantity and menu ideas if needed. This year’s dates are:

                                Cub Foods Grocery bagging
The team helps bag groceries for customers atCub Foodsin return for donations. Two volunteersare needed to help supervise the girls and collect donations during each shift.
                Pancake Breakfast Applebee’s - October 15th 2011
October 15th 2011 8:00am -10:00am. The Girls sell tickets and serve an annual pancake breakfast for a fundraiser. One or two adult volunteers are needed to help organize the event and supervise the players.
                        Alumni Night - December 22th
The teaminvites any Alumni to come back for a game and reception. Volunteers are needed to plan someevents as well as set up and clean up.
                             Parent Night - November 26th 
The team takes time to recognize its parents. We provide gifts for the parents, take pictures during the game, and provide a reception after the game. Volunteers are needed to plan, get gifts, arrange food, set up and clean up.

                                Senior Night - January 14th
The team takes time to recognize its senior players. We provide gifts to the seniors and plan otherevents around the game including a reception after the game. Volunteers are needed to plan, arrange the food, get the gifts, set up and clean up.
               Fogerty North Team Picture Display - Set Up
We receive a copy of each players picture to display at Fogerty North.
A volunteer is needed to add the new seasonplayer’s picture to the display once they are available from the photographer. This task is usually completed in about two hours.


                        Skate withthe Panthers - January
Skate with the Panthers is an annual event where the high school hockey teams open skate with youth from the area to encourage youth hockey. A high school player’s sign autograph, open skate with the youth, and everyone enjoys pizza and pop. Two volunteers work with two volunteers from the boy’s high school hockey team and any youth representatives. Volunteers coordinate the ice time, plan the pizza, pop and the forms for autographs as well as arrange to have a group picture taken.

                                    Banquet - February
We hold an annual banquet to celebrate the end of the season and to recognizeour skaters. We need volunteers to help plan and organize the event and to shop for the player gifts.

               Summer Jamboree and Golf Tournament - August
These two events are our major fundraisers for the year and take place in the summer. A volunteer are needed for planning and to staff both tournaments as well as solicit door prizes, ads and get tournament sponsors.
 
Other Ways to Help
                                               Program Ads
We are looking for local businesses to place ads and/or coupons in our annual team program. Prices vary depending on the size of the ad. Please contact Roger Kelly if you would like more information on placing an ad.
                                Paper Products for Carbo Loads
Have any paper products that you could donate? We need paper plates, napkins, plastic silverware, plastic banquet table tablecloths, and cups for the carbo loads. Please let Ronnie Perzel @
