Programs for Elementary & Intermediate Youth (Grades K-5)

STARS provides opportunities for identified elementary-aged at-risk learners to access additional services and assistance before/after school hours and during the summer months. Participants are recommended by their current teachers and/or parents/guardians. Learn more. |

District 16 offers several different before-and after-school childcare options for children grades K-8. We also can provide all-day licensed daycare for children who are four-years old by September 1 of the current year. Learn more. |

"After School Adventures" programs are offered to students in grades K-8. Program "Adventures" are inexpensive yet entertaining learning opportunities that rotate and change every few weeks and quarterly. Learn more. |

Similar to the school-year after school adventure programs, the summer After School Adventures program allows students to participate in one or two 8-day camp-like enrichment experiences integrating academics, arts, and physical fitness. Learn more. |

CHANCE is a nurturing, safe environment that values trust, lasting relationships, and continuing education. Services available to Spring Lake Park High School and Learning Alternatives (area learning center) students who are pregnant or parenting in order to help them stay in school. Learn more. |

Community Education and Outreach offers a combined Driver’s Education program that includes both the thirty-hours of classroom instruction and the 6-hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. Additionally, students will have an opportunity to take their Permit test during the last classroom session (provided class size minimum is met). Learn more.

The SLPHS Leo Club meets during the school year to plan upcoming service activities, complete projects and discuss other issues. Currently, the Leos are involved in several community service activities for the school, surrounding community and the world. Learn more. |

High School Bigs is a mentoring program for District 16 10th - 12th grade students. In this program, the high school student spends time building a friendship with an elementary student.
