Course Offerings

Please review this year's projected offerings below and note that a minimum number of participants is required in order for courses to be offered. All course enrollments close one week before anticipated offerings, it is then that participant rates are reviewed and courses confirmed.

In the event that the minimum participant rate was not met, you will receive notification of course cancellation.  In your planning, please be mindful of the possibility of a course cancellation if you are anticipating credit(s) to make a lane change as it is not a guarantee that all courses will run as scheduled.

For questions about registration, please contact Patti Pratt, ppratt@district16.org or 763-785-5524. General questions can be directed to Denise Waalen, dwaale@district16.org.

What is the Professional Learning Academy?
The professional learning academy provides staff throughout the district with a variety of learning opportunities. These opportunities reflect our district-wide professional development goals, our strategic directions, and topics of staff interest and needs identified through a staff survey last spring. Members of our teaching, learning, and accountability advisory council identified the strands for study, and a smaller task force developed the specific course offerings. All learning opportunities reflect best practice in professional development processes, providing ongoing focus and support.

Participation in these courses requires no tuition or fee. Either board credit or ceus are offered for all courses. See the specific opportunities for this information.

How To Register
Registration is easy! Each course will have an online registration link below the course name. Space in each course is limited, so register early!

General Information About Courses
The strands of focus that were identified for the 2011-2012 Professional Learning Academy were identified through a staff survey and by members of the teaching, learning, and accountability advisory council.

Specific offerings within were then identified by a smaller task force. The learning opportunities will be presented through a variety of structures, utilizing best practice in professional development processes, providing ongoing focus and support.
