Kindergarten Registration for 2008-09

Spring Lake Park School District 16 has scheduled three Kindergarten Parent Information and Registration Nights in February. District 16 kindergarten students -- from Blaine, Spring Lake Park, Fridley -- will attend one of the district’s three K-3 schools in 2008-09: Park Terrace Elementary, Spring Lake Park; Woodcrest Elementary, Fridley; or Northpoint Elementary, now under construction in Blaine.
The district recently sent letters to families known to have children of kindergarten age for fall 2008. It is important for parents to attend Parent Information Night and Registration, in order to ensure their childrens’ spots in the appropriate home school.
Kenneth Hall Elementary will close at the end of the current school year, Northpoint Elementary will open at the beginning of the 2008-09 school year.
Revised elementary attendance boundaries were approved at the end of January and are viewable on the link at the top of this page. Questions about boundaries or the parent nights should be directed to the school offices on the links above.
Parents may attend any session if the assigned time does not work with your schedule.
At the parent night sessions, the schools will share information regarding half day or full-day kindergarten, curriculum and expectations, health and safety transportation, and the start to the school year
To register, a child must be five years old on or before September 1, 2008. Parents must provide an original birth certificate, but a passport, visa, green card, or document supporting refuge status is also acceptable. The school will make a photocopy, and return your original. A child will not be registered until this documentation if provided.
In addition, parents will need to complete a District 16 Student Enrollment Form. This was provided to those who received a letter. If you have not received a letter, call one of the school offices or you can find the documents online on the district’s website.
