Welcome to Spring Lake Park Schools
Spring Lake Park School District 16 serves students, families, and residents of Blaine, Spring Lake Park, and Fridley.
The district has three K-3 elementary schools (Woodcrest Elementary, Fridley; Park Terrace Elementary, Spring Lake Park; Northpoint Elementary, Blaine), one grades 4-5 elementary school (Westwood Intermediate School, Blaine), a 6-8 middle school (Westwood Middle School, Blaine), four-year high school (Spring Lake Park High School, Spring Lake Park), Learning Alternatives area learning center (a Minnesota Program of the Year), online distance learning academy, and Lighthouse Program for the insatiable, highly-able student.
In round numbers, we have 2,000 elementary students, 1,000 middle schools students, a 1,300-student high school, and 300 enrolled in our wide range of alternative schools and programs. With 4,600 students, the district is personal in size, extra-large in opportunity. So is the school community. Our supportive community approved a February 2006 bond referendum that is providing extensive, exciting, dramatic improvements to all of our schools. A new K-3 elementary school is nearing completion in Blaine and will be open in the fall of 2008. All schools are being totally renovated and expanded. The high school will be "new" after three phases of onsite renovations, improvements, and expansion.
All are part of the district's comprehensive 2007-2010 Facilities Improvement Plan.
