Trimester 3 schedule changes: The deadline for trimester 3 schedule changes is Friday, February 24. Please make an appointment to meet with your counselor prior to this date, if you need to change your schedule for third trimester..
 
 
YEARBOOK ORDERING is DONE:
 After Jan 20 any books will be on a first come first serve basis.
 
FCCLA Meeting-There will be a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 9th at 2:40pm in the Foods room. This will be an informal meeting to finalize plans for FCCLA week next week.
 
Valentine’s Dance cancelled!
The FORMAL Valentine’s dancescheduled for February 10th is cancelled.
 
The NEW After school procedures
Started February 6th we will be providing an organized after Quiet Study program in the school library.
  • There will be a limited number of open spaces
  • Quiet Study program will sign up in the Main Office.
  • And space is limited first come first served basis.and MUST report to the library by 2:45. Quiet Study will conclude daily at 3:30; all students will be required to leave the building promptly.
  • ALL students are to be OUT OF THE BUILDING at 2:45 PM if they are not with a staff member or in Quiet Study.
  • This includes students who participate in after school activities/athletics.
  • Students who participate in after school activities/athletics should speak with their activity advisors/coaches regarding options and plans.
  • The Activity Bus will begin picking students up after school from LA ENTRANCE ONLY Door # 28
Spring Lake Parks Knowledge Bowl is having a fantastic year. They repeated as North Suburban Champs and our team was named the academic championship team of the conference. Out of 96 teams in the region our team is currently 2nd. TRACK and FIELD INFO: Concordia University Throws Camp is to aid high school throwers. The Throws Camp provides high school level competitors a venue to learn the various throws and provides open practice sessions before the high school season begins in Minnesota. The Camp will consist of 8 open sessions over 5 weeks in February and March.
Also pick up information on the 27th Annual One Day CO-ED TRACK & FIELD Clinic Sat. March 24th at the U of M.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL: Class 3A, No. 1 Benilde-St. Margaret's defeated Spring Lake Park 67-65 over the No. 2 Panthers with over-capacity crowd at Spring Lake Park on Friday with 2.6 seconds remaining on the clock. Sean Scott finished with 36 points -- 10 above his average -- and six blocks.  
 
MSHSL BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS FOR COMPETITIONS:
  • Respect the American flag and the National Anthem.
  • Spectators must wear clothing that covers the entire torso.
  • The use of appropriate language is expected at all times. Profanity, negative chants, booing, trash talk, name calling, personal attacks or other acts of disrespect are unacceptable and must be immediately addressed by school officials.
  • Respect the game/contest. Under no condition shall anyone enter the playing surface. No one may interfere with the contest in any way.
  • Hand held signs, which do not obstruct the view of others, will be permitted provided they are in good taste. Signs, in poor taste will be removed. Artificial noise makers (i.e. megaphones, cowbells, sirens, whistles, thunder sticks, and other similar items) are not allowed.
  • Laser lights are strictly prohibited.

Students must have at least one-half the price of a meal in their account to charge a reimbursable meal.
Students are not allowed to purchase ala carte* items when the balance is at or below zero.
2nd meals are charged at the adult meal cost.
Purchases on a friend’s account are not allowed.
A Net Cash machine will be available to students in the cafeteria during school hours. Cash only will be accepted by the machine and will go directly to the student’s account. Students may check their account balance by using the Net Cash machine during school hours.

World Cultures Club:
Learn about countries and cultures from around the world, and become friends with kids in our school who are exchange students from some of those countries! Meets the 1st or 2nd Tuesday of the month in room C275. Meets monthly to plan something outside of school, like hayrides, haunted house, bonfires, ice skating, movies, bowling, dance lessons, etc. Anyone can join anytime

FIRST Robotics Team – Interested in designing, building, or programming a robot to compete against other high school teams at the University of Minnesota? Come to an information night with your parent on Tuesday, October 25th at 7:00 p.m. Enter the high school through door #28. Go to room C167. Competing robots weigh up to 120 lbs.

Theater: Drama (fall), One Acts (winter), Musical (spring)
Lots of opportunities for students who like to sing, act, dance, direct, make costumes, build sets, etc. Watch for posters around school for auditions and information.

One Acts: Meets Monday thru Friday and Saturday, competitions and performances may fall on Saturdays; meets from mid-November through early-February (end depends on competition advancement); watch for posters to join, probably in early November; acting is by audition; stage crew is by sign up; $50 activity fee;

Musical: Meets every day from mid-February to end of April including some Saturdays and evenings; $50 activity fee (waived if free lunch; ½ price if reduced lunch); meets in the Fine Arts Center; participation is by audition; watch for audition posters around school.

The Voice:
Interested in theater, performance, script-writing, directing, dancing and/or media arts? Interested in social issues, too? You can combine these interests into one cool club! This year’s focus is Words Hurt, which will address bullying, dating violence and family violence, and the power of our words when used to hurt others. You will help to develop the theme, write the script, act and perform. Meets 3-4 days/week at 2:40 in room B250-A. Starting in Nov, will meet 4-5 days/week Students can earn a letter for full participation Open to all 9-12 graders.
