Welcome to Northpoint Elementary!
Dear Families,
Welcome to our new school - Northpoint Elementary! We are located in Blaine, Minnesota and are a part of the Spring Lake Park School District #16. We support over 600 students pre-school through third grade with varied academic, social, emotional, and cultural needs. Northpoint will give students a warm, caring, and fun atmosphere to learn and grow. The staff at Northpoint will take a responsive approach to personalizing learning and to assuring students are successful in reaching their full potential. Scientifically based reading research (SBRR) and data driven decision making (D3M) in Language Arts and math are essential components of collaborative, weekly professional learning communities (PLC) and study groups that all certified staff participate in. Our school offers each student a high quality education with opportunities in many content areas. To meet the needs of our students we put forward programs such as Gifted and Talented, English Language Learning, Special Education, Basic Skills, All Day Kindergarten, Targeted Services and other student support services. We also have specialist teachers in the areas of physical education, music, art, and media. Northpoint Elementary will be recognized as a community of continuous improvement by: -Establishing a fun, safe, welcoming, and inclusive culture of respect and responsibility. -Becoming culturally and educationally proficient in relationships with students and families of varied backgrounds. -Staff working in partnership and committed to sharing, developing, and enriching professional practice together. -Raising the achievement of all students; with personalized, engaging instruction. -Emphasizing learning and innovation that integrates the use of supportive technologies, inquiry, and higher order thinking skills. The commitment and professionalism of the Northpoint staff is replicated by involved families and a community that views its school with pride and value. We are fortunate to have an active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and volunteer program. The PTO meets monthly and sponsors many social activities for our community to participate in. Parent volunteers are welcome and instrumental in assisting students, teachers, and support staff members in creating successful educational opportunities for each student at Northpoint. As we move forward through our first year together, staff, families and community, Northpoint will create high expectations and educational experiences that challenge ALL students to ensure their success. By appointment, we welcome new members to our community to stop in to tour our school and see the students, staff and families in action. I look forward to meeting you! Warm Regards, Mike Callahan |
