I share with my staff a feeling of academic excitement and a complete commitment to excellence. It is for this reason that we insist learning be continuous, cooperative, and joy-filled. As the principal, my goal is to work with students, families, and staff in providing quality education and creating a caring community for all students. Our standards for ourselves and students are high. At Woodcrest Elementary our learning goal is two-fold; we work hard to increase achievement for all students and close the achievement gap. Our staff will accomplish this by focusing on the individual needs of each student, by applying research-based instructional practices, and by using current student assessment data as we plan our lessons. We also understand the important role parents play in their children’s education; therefore we place great value on connecting and partnering with all families.
